Burgh Castle Walk

Great Yarmouth

Join us on a trip out out to the Burgh Castle Roman fort. The late 3rd century ‘Saxon Shore’ fort at Burgh Castle was built as part of the Roman network of coastal defenses, and probably abandoned just over a hundred years later. Three of its imposing stone walls survive, almost to their original height, making this one of the best preserved Roman monuments in Britain.

The walk will be taking place on Tuesday 16th July with the minibus leaving the Great Yarmouth Hub (12 Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, NR30 1HP) at 10am and returning around 2pm. It is free to attend but donations are welcome.
