Getting out, meeting others and staying active are good for our health and mental wellbeing. We bring people together and support those living with sight loss to enjoy a wide variety of adapted creative, cultural and social events.
At present, we are running our audio book clubs, creative writing circle, arts and crafts and EffstopEyes photography group.
Mary lost her sight in 2013 and is now registered blind. Initially attending our discussion group, she has also enjoyed craft, theatre and creative writing sessions. “Meeting and talking with people who had already experienced sight loss was very comforting and seeing how they navigated getting around was encouraging, The creative writing group has been wonderful and I find it extremely cathartic to be able to sit and think about things I haven’t considered for years. It’s probably been the biggest step in the right direction.”
