A table with four hand made holiday cards. One says "Joy! Peaceful" with a white rabit and snow. Another says "let it snow" with snow and a bus. The other two are ownly partly visable, one says "Merry Christmas" and the other has a reindeer. The table also has art supplies and two hands that appear to be working on the cards.

Christmas Art Competition

Every year we sell Christmas cards as a fundraiser for Vision Norfolk and to help get our name out in the community. We usually sell cards at each of our community hubs and in the Original Norwich Charity Christmas Card Shop in St Peter Mancroft (the church across from The Forum).

This year we are running a Christmas Art Competition for our clients for the possibility of featuring some of your artwork on our Christmas cards!

The competition is open to anyone in Norfolk who is visually impaired. All ages are welcome to send in their artwork. There will be three age groups: 0-8 years, 9-25 years and 26+.

Artwork

  • The final design will be 14cmx14cm covering the front of a square Christmas card. Participants are welcome to create and submit larger pieces of artwork. However you need to be aware that the artwork will be shrunk down to fit that size so it may be difficult to see some details. All artwork submitted should be square.

  • The artwork should be either Christmas or winter themed You are welcome to take creative interpretations to this (for example abstract pieces featuring a lot of cool “wintery” colours or “festive” colours like red and gold).

  • Artist Statement We are asking all artists to submit a 1-2 sentence artist statement that may appear with the artwork.

We are asking for all artwork to be submitted by the end of the day on Monday 17th July. The winning designs will be announced by the end of the month.

Two photographs side by side. On the left: Photo shows a rugged, eroded cliffside under a cloudy sky. In the foreground, the ground is uneven and rocky, with reddish-brown soil and chunks of stone scattered around. Some areas look freshly exposed, as if rain or wind recently washed parts of the earth away. There’s a small patch of muddy water near the bottom of the scene. In the background, the cliff rises sharply upward. Its face is light beige with dark grey and brown layers running through it, showing how the earth has built up over time. The top of the cliff is covered with a thin layer of green grass and small patches of yellow wildflowers. Deep cracks run down parts of the cliff, hinting that pieces might eventually break off. On the Right: Photo shows a black and white close up image of a wooden groyne with 6 small pebbles stuck in the small gap of the groyne through the larger gap at the top of the picture you can just make out the clifftop.
