CASE STUDY: CEINWEN'S STORY

Life with assistive technology

A retired teacher and keen musician, Ceinwen first noticed problems with her eyesight after climbing Snowdon just before her 80th birthday. Diagnosed with macular disease, her vision deteriorated over time, leaving her with only peripheral sight. Determined to stay independent in her own home, Ceinwen turned to the Norwich Equipment Centre to explore how technology could support her daily life. From simple tools like hand-held magnifiers to advanced technology including low-vision electronic goggles and her Siri virtual assistant, Ceinwen’s equipment has been life-changing.

Technology has enabled me to continue to live independently and enjoy the things I’ve always done, like music and reading. The advances in recent years have made a huge difference, and the Vision Norfolk Equipment Centre is a fantastic place to start looking.”
