We were fortunate to be able to arrange another free driving experience at the beginning of October. People with varying degrees of sight loss took turns in 4×4 vehicles, tackling the off road course at Elveden Estate with the expert guidance of instructors from Explore 4×4.
“I haven’t driven in 28 years and that was really great. When I was going along I did feel a little emotional because I thought I haven’t done this for so long. I never thought it would affect me, but it did”.
“Malcom was our guide and instructor. He was very calm and it was not a problem at all.”.

Robert speaking to camera: “I’m almost total blind although I have a little bit of periphery vision to the left and the right. Really great, I haven’t driven in 28 years and that was really great. When I was going along, I did feel a little emotional because I thought I haven’t done this for so long. I never thought it would affect me, but it did”
Jen speaking to camera: “Yeah it was a really amazing experience and, you know, something that I would never have the opportunity to do otherwise”.

Instructor: “Now just turn a little bit to your right, a little bit more. Okay, dip the clutch right in.”
Robert speaking to camera: “Go and do it, go and do it, because until you do it, and the guide is absolutely superb. Malcolm was our guide and instructor. He was very calm and it was not a problem at all. People with total vision loss have done it as well”.
