Participants Needed For Technology Focus Group

The University of Hertfordshire is conducting research into how technology is used by people living with sight loss. Vision Norfolk is supporting their research locally by hosting a focus group at our Great Yarmouth community hub on Monday 11th August.

Please see the full details from the Univerity of Hertfordshire below:

Title: Understanding technology use for people with vision loss

We know that a range of technologies (from phones and Alexa’s, to speaking clocks, to remote monitoring systems) are increasingly being used to help people stay connected and living independently in their own homes.  But we want to learn more about how this is, isn’t  or could work better for people with vision loss who are 60 years old and over.

We are hosting a series of workshops to understand:

  • Your experiences of digital technologies – good and bad
  • What technologies do you use?
  • What they help you to do
  • What difficulties or challenges you may have.
  • What you would like to be able to do using technologies

We also want to hear from people who don’t use technologies and understand why that is?

If you would like to participate in a workshop being held with Vision Norfolk Great Yarmouth Hub, 12 Hall Quay, Great Yarmouth, NR30 1HP on 11th August from 11am-1pm.

We will be able to offer a voucher to thank you for your time and cover costs incurred through your involvement in this study.

This research has been approved by The University of Hertfordshire Health, Science, Engineering and Technology ethics committee: 0858 2025 May HSET
