Calling All Parents With A Vision Impairment!

29th October 2026

Would you be interested in joining a local peer support group?

We are looking at setting up a friendly and welcoming local peer support group for parents who are vision impaired or blind and have children in education, whether their children are sighted, vision impaired or blind.

Being a parent can be challenging at times, and navigating school life when you have a vision impairment can bring its own unique experiences. From school letters and homework to parents’ evenings, school events and communicating with teachers, there is often a lot to manage.

Wouldn’t it be great to meet other parents who understand?

The idea is to bring local parents together in a relaxed and supportive environment where we can:
  • Share experiences, advice and practical tips
  • Talk openly about the challenges we face
  • Learn from and support one another
  • Build friendships and confidence
  • Celebrate our achievements as parents

We want this group to be shaped by you!

At this stage, we are simply trying to find out whether there is enough interest in starting a local group and what parents would like to get out of it.

We would love to hear your thoughts!

Would you be interested in joining?
What topics would you like to discuss?
Would you prefer daytime or evening meetings?

There is no commitment at this stage — we just want to hear from you!

Please email [email protected] to register your interest.
