Shadwell Donation To Boost Support For People Living With Sight Loss In Thetford Area

Support for vision impaired people in the Thetford area living has been given a boost with a £1,000 donation by The Shadwell Stud to Norfolk’s sight loss charity, Vision Norfolk.

The charities committee at Shadwell, which is made up of staff from across the business, chose Vision Norfolk to be a recipient of one of their regular grants to good causes after learning about Vision Norfolk’s work from the mum of a seven year-old vision impaired girl.

The donation is party of the Shadwell Community Fund, which is administered by the Norfolk and Suffolk Community Foundations, and which offers grants of up to £1,000 to charities, community and voluntary groups working in the Thetford area.

The Fund seeks to promote community cohesion, develop sustainable and supportive communities, tackle disadvantage, and promote health and wellbeing.

Visiting Shadwell to meet the Shadwell Charities committee, Barbara Dunn, services manager and deputy chief executive at Vision Norfolk, said, “We are very grateful for this generous donation, which will help us to further develop the support we are able to offer vision impaired adults and young people in the Thetford area.

“As a charity we are entirely dependent on the generosity of businesses and individuals in Norfolk, and donations like this enable us to make a big difference in working towards our goal of supporting vision impaired people in Norfolk to live independent and fulfilled lives.”
