Vision Norfolk is seeking an experienced, creative, and dynamic Fundraising and Marketing Executive to lead and shape our fundraising efforts as we strive to ensure that all people with vision impairment can live independent and fulfilled lives. About Vision Norfolk

For nearly 220 years, Vision Norfolk has provided essential services to people living with sight loss, empowering them to live independently through our community-based hubs in Norwich, Great Yarmouth, and King’s Lynn. Having recently launched an ambitious five-year strategy, we are committed to expanding our reach and developing new services that meet the evolving needs of the vision impaired community in Norfolk.

As our new Fundraising and Marketing Executive, you will play an integral role in the sustainability and growth of our charity. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team, your contribution will be key in advancing Vision Norfolk’s mission to reach more people and develop innovative services that meet the growing needs of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Fundraising and Marketing Strategies: Design and execute a comprehensive fundraising and marketing plan aligned with the organisation’s goals, ensuring diverse income streams including major gifts and corporate partnerships.
  • Donor Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current and potential donors, providing them with regular updates on the impact of their contributions and ensuring high levels of donor satisfaction and repeat donation/support.
  • Campaign Management: Plan and oversee fundraising campaigns, ensuring they are effectively promoted and meet their financial targets.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage the fundraising budget, monitoring income and expenditure against targets.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant legislation and best practices. Prepare regular reports for senior management and trustees on fundraising performance.
  • Event Planning: Lead the organisation and execution of fundraising events, both virtual and in-person, to engage the community and raise funds.
  • Data Management: Utilise CRM systems to track donor engagement and analyse fundraising data to inform future strategies.
  • Marketing: Create, execute and manage an effective marketing and communications plan aimed at both donors and service users.
  • Innovation and Growth: Explore new opportunities and trends in fundraising and marketing, bringing fresh ideas to expand our reach and maximise our impact. Your leadership will be instrumental in embedding these initiatives across the organisation.

About You

We are looking for an individual with a deep understanding of fundraising and marketing, combined with the passion to lead a vital aspect of Vision Norfolk’s work. You will be driven by results, with a strategic mind-set and the ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally. Essential skills and experience include:

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in motivating and guiding teams to achieve ambitious goals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors, corporate partners, and community supporters.
  • Proven experience in managing events, from concept to execution, and a track record of meeting income targets.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and the use of data to inform fundraising strategies.
  • Financial acumen, including experience in budget management and financial planning within a fundraising and marketing context.

Fantastic company benefits include:

  • Competitive Salary: On offer is a salary of £36,000 – £38,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Hours: 5 hours per week Monday to Friday, with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work to support events.
  • Pension: stakeholder pension scheme with Royal London. Contributions 4% employee and 4% Employer.
  • Employee extras such as: Westfield Health Scheme covering eye tests and glasses, dental checks and treatment, physiotherapy, consultations etc. Life Assurance covers all employees and pays 2 times annual salary on death of the employee.
