Hammond Court

Hammond Court is home to a vibrant community of residents with visual impairment, who live independently with on-site warden assistance.

With 20 flats, a residents’ lounge and tranquil, well-kept gardens, Hammond Court enables its visually-impaired residents to live independently with support.

There is a lively programme of activities and outings, and residents also organise their own social occasions, such as a Friday film night where each brings food to share.

Kate was born blind and has lived at Hammond Court since 1988 . She lives independently with daily support from our housing team. “Hammond Court has been a life changer for me and living here gives my family great peace of mind, knowing I am safe. It offers the freedom of being independent and having your own front door with support whenever you need it. Life has been happy and it’s good living here – to anyone thinking about coming here, I would say, don’t be hesitant, have a go and see what you can achieve.”
